National underage leagues commence

A number of Galway United and Galway WFC are in action again

Martin Devlin’s Galway United U17s made an impressive start to the season at the weekend winning 3-0 away to Finn Harps.

Mark O’Halloran, Donnacha Sammon, and Victor Tuchilus scored for Devlin’s team, who host Sligo Rovers at Maree on Saturday (5pm ).

Brendan O’Connor’s U19s produced a gritty performance to earn a 1-1 draw in Waterford with Gradia Lombata netting.

United are at home to the Kerry League at Maree on Sunday (5pm ).

Anthony O’Neill’s U15s were beaten 3-2 in Maree by St Patrick’s Athletic with Eoin Hannon scoring twice for United.

Next on the agenda is a difficult away assignment against Bohemians.

Isabelle Fitzpatrick supplied the only goal of the game as Galway WFC U17s enjoyed an encouraging triumph over DLR Waves.

Dangan will provide the backdrop for their next fixture on Saturday afternoon against Cobh Ramblers (2pm ).

Galway WFC U19s first fixture of the campaign is away to Wexford Youths at Ferrycarrig Park the following afternoon.
