MISHKA RUSHDIE Momen, The Times Arts Critics’ Nominee for 2021 in the field of classical music, will perform a concert in NUI Galway next week.
The pianist will perform a solo recital in the university’s Emily Anderson Concert Hall on Tuesday February 15 at 8pm as part of Music for Galway’s 40th Anniversary Season.

.
Also on the programme is Schumann’s romantic Impromptus, based on a theme by his wife and fellow composer, Clara; Prokofiev’s ‘Visions Fugitives’; Janacek’s’ In The Mists’; and the Irish première of Missy Mazzoli’s ‘Heartbreaker’.
Momen has given solo recitals at the Wigmore Hall; concertos with BBC NOW, Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg, Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss, Lucerne Symphony Orchestra; had tours with Orchestre National d’île de France and Britten Sinfonia; and solo and duo recitals at the Lucerne Festival, Lincoln Centre, Carnegie Hall, Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, 92nd Street Y, the Phillips Collection in Washington DC, and the Vancouver Recital Society.
Her debut solo recording, Variations, was released in October 2019 by SOMM Recordings, featuring works Momen has commissioned by Nico Muhly and Vijay Iyer, to demonstrate her commitment to performing new music.
