Aimée to play Róisín Dubh

Irish singer with taste for Swedish pop is coming to Galway

AIMÉE, THE Irish singer obsessed with Scandinavian pop from the 1990s and 2000s, will play the Róisín Dubh on Wednesday February 9 at 8pm.

Since she emerged in 2018, the Dubliner has enjoyed a string of Top 40 hits in Ireland, and had her music played on BBC, Kiss, and Clash. Her debut EP, Confessions, shot to the No 1 spot on both the iTunes Pop Album Chart and overall iTunes Album Chart.

Songs like ‘Don’t Call Me Pretty’ displayed a femninist outlook; ‘Naked’ explored the full range of her vocals; while ‘Bulletproof’ was written in response to online bullies.

“I’ll continue to remind people to be kind, to think before you speak,” she told Goss.ie, “and to also use my platform to remind people to try not to allow other people’s opinions affect you.”

She has collaborated with producers in Sweden, Norway, Ireland, and Britain; Grammy-nominated DJ, Sonny Alvin; and Swedish songwriter Nick Jarl on the single ’Just A Phase’. “I wanted to create something fun and upbeat,” she told Goss.ie, “with a little nod to my favourite era of music – 90s/00s Swedish pop.”
