Show Me The Funny 2022

Comedy competition returns to The King’s Head after a two year hiatus

IT HAS been a long wait, but the Show Me The Funny comedy competition is finally returning to The King’s Head after a two year hiatus.

Sponsored by Bulmers, and under the watchful eye of host and MC, Gerry Mallon, the first heat takes place on Monday, February 7, as eight comedians compete. Two will go through to the Grand Final on Monday March 7.

The eventual winner of that final will garner a career changing slot at the Comedy Tent at the Electric Picnic Festival plus two weekend VIP tickets for the festival itself. Runner-up slots include slots at All Together Now, Galway Comedy Festival, and the Wild Roots Festival. Previous contestants and finalists have included Kevin McGarhen, Bernard Casey, and Alison Spittle.

The special guest act for February 7 will be Savage Eye’s John Colleary. Tickets are €5 and includes a free pint of Bulmers Cider. Doors open at 8pm with the show starting at 8.30pm.
