Appeal for witnesses to fatal motorway collision
Gardaí at Oranmore are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on Thursday last, January 20.
The three vehicle collision took place westbound on the M6 motorway near Athenry between junctions 18 and 19 at approximately 2pm on Thursday afternoon January 20.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to the collision to come forward. Gardaí are also appealing to any road users who were travelling along the M6 motorway between junctions 18 and 19 at around 2pm and may have camera and/or dash-cam footage to make the footage available to investigating gardaí.

Gardai probe city and county burglaries
Sometime between Monday January 17 and Saturday January 22 a house at Esserkelly, Kilchreest was broken into. A sum of money was taken from the property during the course of the burglary. Anyone who may have seen any person acting suspiciously in the Esserkelly area of Kilchreest between Monday and Saturday of last week, or who may have any information in relation to this break or the items taken is asked to contact Gort Garda Station on 091 636400.
Between 5pm on Thursday January 20 and 8am on Friday January 2,1 a steel storage container was broken into on a building site at Merlin Park. A Hilti rotating laser, a Hilti dumpy level, two Stihl impact screw guns, a Stihl consaw, a DeWalt cordless grinder, a DeWalt cordless poker, a Kango drill, an underground cable scanner, and a cordless hammer drill were among the items taken from the property during the course of the break in.
Gardaí in Galway are appealing to anyone who may have seen any person acting suspiciously in the Merlin Park area on Thursday night/Friday morning or anyone who may have been offered any of the stolen tools for sale to contact them at Galway Garda Station on 091-538000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
Sometime between 5pm on Friday January 21 and 9am on Saturday January 22 a shed at the side of a property at Grannagh, Ardrahan was broken into with damage caused to the property. Gardaí are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Ardrahan area on Friday night/Saturday morning to contact Gort Garda Station on 091 636400.
Criminal damage in supermarket car park
At approximately 8.45pm on Friday January 21 the rear window of a blue Opel Corsa was damaged while parked in the Tesco car park, Ballinasloe.
A number of people and vehicles were in the car park at the time and gardaí in Ballinasloe are asking anyone who may have witnessed this damage being caused, or anyone who may have any information in relation to this incident, to contact them at Ballinasloe Garda Station on 09096-31890.
Appeal for witnesses to assault
On Thursday January 20 at approximately 10.10pm four males were walking home through the Dyke Road car park, Headford Road when it is alleged an altercation took place, which led to two of the males being assaulted and injured.
There were vehicles parked in the car park at the time of the alleged assault and gardai are anxious to speak with anyone who was in the Dyke Road car park at around 10pm on Thursday evening and may have witnessed the altercation taking place. Anyone who may have captured the incident on camera and/or dash cam is asked to make contact with investigating gardaí.
