Cúirt New Writing Prize 2022 seeks entries

Lisa McInerney and poet Gail McConnell to be judges for this year’s competition

The Cúirt New Writing Prize 2022 is seeking entries for its poetry and short fiction categories, while the judges will be novelist Lisa McInerney and poet Gail McConnell.

The guidelines for entry are poetry of up to three poems under 50 lines each, while short stories can be no longer than 2,000 words. Entries are welcome in English or as Gaeilge. Writers submitting work should not have had a full collection or work published in the category in which they enter.

The story or poems submitted should not have been accepted for publication elsewhere. Judging is anonymous. Name and contact details must not appear in the stories or poems.

Entries should be submitted in a single document. The title of the document should be the title of the piece or pieces. Entries in the body of an email will not be accepted.

Prizes

The winner in each category will be awarded €500 and the opportunity to read at the 37th annual Cúirt International Festival of Literature (April 6 to 10 ).

Submissions will be accepted through Google Forms only this year. The entry fee for each separate submission is €10. This can be paid through Stripe.
