MathWorks Ireland celebrates fifth anniversary in Galway

MathWorks Ireland, whose offices first opened in late 2016 in Galway City Centre, are proud to celebrate their fifth anniversary in Ireland. Located in CityPoint in the heart of Galway, MathWorks Ireland’s office is the shared sales and services centre for the company’s operations throughout EMEA.

Since its establishment, MathWorks staff member numbers have increased from 11 to approaching 100 along with an increase of overall office space by 100%. The MathWorks team is diverse and multicultural with staff from both Ireland and the wider EU.

Looking ahead to 2022 and beyond, MathWorks Ireland is working towards the establishment of a dedicated Commercial Customer Success Team which will ensure seamless end-to-end customer support for those looking to implement MathWork’s products into their workflows. The company has 15 high quality job vacancies currently open for recruitment.

Richard Haxby, Managing Director of MathWorks Ireland said the time has flown.

“It is hard to believe it has been five years since we welcomed our first employees into our Galway office.

“We’ve grown a lot as a company in this time and this success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our fantastic team.

“We’re committed to excellence in our staff development programmes and have brought MathWorks culture to the heart of what we do, where people enjoy coming into the friendly and supportive atmosphere we have created, although that means working remotely for now, which we have embraced throughout the pandemic.

“Interestingly, 90% of our staff had not worked or lived in Galway before, and as such the inward investment in the community is significant and contributes strongly to the culture of the city. MathWorks Ireland also works closely with more than 100 local suppliers over the last 5 years, supporting local Galway economy and businesses as we grew.

“As we see MathWorks customers continuing to invest annually, the evolution of the shared services centre will soon meet its goal of 150 staff,” he said.

“Our new Commercial Customer Success team will support the customer from the moment they download their MathWorks license. This includes on-boarding and ramp-up, ensuring the customer has access and is able to make use of all the resources available and to realise the value of using MathWorks tools within their Research and Development workflows.

“Celebrating this significant milestone with each and every one of our team and developing our vision for the next 5 years involves all our staff into this on-going journey – with staffs’ personal development at the core of what we do in contributing strategically and commercially to the global success of the MathWorks business,” concluded Mr Haxby.
