THE WATERBOY’S Steve Wickham will join Carpet Theatre actor Karl Quinn in a new ‘music play’ at the Town Hall Theatre - Breath.
The show, which takes place at 6.30pm on Friday January 28 is a humorous look at the experience of living through a pandemic, where, in a metaphorical sense, we have all been ‘holding our breath’. Yet, through the music, we will find hope.
For one man, the family working and studying at home, is building up the pressure, along with the waiting, sanitising, news overload, Zooms gone wrong, botched deliveries, and window visits. He is trying to hold it together with online yoga, home baking, and dancing in the kitchen, but one sneeze could blow it all apart.
The play, directed by Galwegian Ciarán Taylor, will see Steve Wickham combine classical, folk, and rock on fiddle, concertina, and didgeridoo. He has worked with Taylor and Quinn previously on Pigeon and Wexford Firestation Tour.
Tickets are available via the Town Hall Theatre (091 - 569777, www.tht.ie )
