Drumadore Drum School

Drumadore is Ireland’s largest provider of group drumming lessons. The school wants children to have fun through drumming together and get all the benefits of friendship through music. Director of the school, Eimhin Cradock, is super passionate about what he does and uses all of his experience as a primary school teacher, Macnas drum director, and former Saw Doctor to bring drumming to as many people as possible.

The school puts a huge emphasis on its own STEPS programme which is designed to carry students from total beginner in junior infants all the way up to the Beat Fleet, which is 13 to 18-year-olds, and then eventually on to The Bash Brothers which is Drumadore’s professional outfit. Fun is the cornerstone of everything though, and the social aspect is key. The school has a staff of 10 committed teachers that specialise in one-to-one lessons, groups lessons, school workshops, and corporate team building, all based on rhythm, movement, and fun.

Regular public performances (four a year at least ) are what make Drumadore’s drummers so comfortable with performing. “Gigs are majorly important,” says Eimhin Cradock. Drumadore drummers are known to show up all over the place and the children get endless opportunities. The Late Late Toy Show, Connacht Rugby home games, Macnas parades, busks around the city… the list goes on.

The school motto, “Fun, friends, flow” sums up what it is all about, and if you are interested in learning more you can join the mailing list on drumadore.com or sign up for lessons right away in Headford, Claregalway, Tuam, Barna, or Galway city.
