Galway indie musicians - live at the Town Hall

Tracy Bruen, Eoin Dolan, Anna Mullarkey and others in concert throughout January

TRACY BRUEN, Eoin Dolan, Anna Mullarkey, and others, will be in concert at the Town Hall Theatre throughout January, starting this weekend.

Two of the absolute leading lights of Galway music - Tracy Bruen and Eoin Dolan - will begin the series this Saturday, January 8.

From her outstanding debut album Mirror, to recent singles ‘Dream Away’ and ‘Better Than This’ Tracy Bruen has proven herself to be one of the most original of Galway songwriters, mixing folk, indie, pop, and musical theatre.

She is also a musical mentor via her running of the open-mic in the Róisín Dubh and her involvement with the Livefeed youth music programme.

Eoin Dolan has been praised by MOJO for his “effortless melodies [and] West Coast pop warmth", been hailed by The Thin Air as “one of the country’s finest songwriters”, and described by Nialler9 as “channeling the Beach Boys’ sunny warmth like no other”.

He recently released his fourth album, Mirror Liver, which explores themes of love, mysticism, and the lives of people who lived during the Neolithic/Bronze Age eras in Europe.

The series will continue on January 15 with Brad Heidi and Anna Carmody, and on January 29 with Anna Mullarkey and Jossle.

Anna Mullarkey writes scores, and arranges, records, and mixes soundtracks for film, documentary, and theatre. A co-founder and co-writer of the band My Fellow Sponges for seven years, she has since released three solo singles, ‘Baby Dragon’, ‘Sometimes’, and ‘Alright’, and an EP, Spéir. In 2019, she performed at the launch of Galway as the 2020 European Capital of Culture.

The shows are a ‘Town Hall Theatre and Strange Brew presents…’ series of events. Shows start at 5pm. Tickets (in-person and online ) are €5 from www.tht.ie and 091 - 569777. There is limited capacity, so early booking is advised. The show runs for 80 minutes.
