Ahead of Licorice Pizza - a Paul Thomas Anderson retrospective

Eight films by the acclaimed director to be screened at the Pálás from December 27 to January 3

WITH HYPE building for Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film Licorice Pizza, Pálás Galway will host screenings of some of the award-winning director’s finest films, including Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood.

The retrospective will run will run from December 27 to January 3, and the films to be screened are Hard Eight, Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch Drunk Love, There Will Be Blood, The Master, Inherent Vice, and Phantom Thread. Licorice Pizza will open on January 7.

“A new film from Paul Thomas Anderson is always an event and we absolutely adore his latest film Licorice Pizza – a joyful journey through 1970’s San Fernando Valley with characters we love spending time with,” said programmer Charlene Lydon. “A celebration of Anderson’s films feels like a superb way to kick off 2022 and get us ready for the brilliant year of cinematic gems waiting for us in the coming months.”
