Gardaí appeal for witnesses to Dock Street assault

Alleged assault took place in the early hours of Sunday October 31

On Sunday October 31 at approximately 1.40am, a man and female were walking home along Dock Street when they were approached by a group of five to six young males and one female.

Following a brief interaction it is alleged that the male was assaulted by a number of the males in the group. The male suspects are all described as being between 18 and 21 years of age. The group remained in the area for a short time after the alleged incident and then left the area.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the altercation or the alleged assault to make contact. They are further appealing to a number of taxis who are believed to have passed through the area around the time of the incident and may have camera and/or dash-cam footage to make the footage available to investigating gardaí.
