Gift a Dog’s Dinner to a MADRA rescue dog this Christmas

At just five weeks old, Melon, Plum and their siblings were abandoned in Connemara but luckily for them, they were rescued by MADRA (Mutts Anonymous Dog Rescue and Adoption ). It’s been a ruff year for all, but a special gang of MADRA hounds would really benefit from a Dog’s Dinner with a difference this Christmas!

A donation of just €5 will buy a Christmas dinner for a MADRA rescue dog (along with a tasty treat for dessert! ) and purchasers can download and print a Gift Certificate, which also makes a wonderful Christmas present.

MADRA rescues and rehomes over 500 dogs annually and an unexpected side effect of the pandemic has been fewer dogs arriving from the dog pounds. However, the dogs coming in need significant emotional or medical support before they can be rehomed. This has put additional pressure on resources when so many of the charity’s fundraisers have been curtailed due to COVID again this year. All donations, no matter how big or small, make an incredible difference in helping to ensure the most gentle path to recovery for the dogs in MADRA’s care.

Looking for Christmas decorations, or other gift ideas for the animal lovers in your life? The MADRA.ie online store, and shops in Furbo and Moycullen offer a range of wonderful gift options. Firm favourites include their MADRA hoodies, beanie hats, socks and the ever-popular MADRA Calendar, along with a selection of handmade craft items, gift packs and more.

In keeping with the festive spirit, MADRA patron Damian Browne will officially launch the Carrick Family Light Show in Lurgan Park, Renmore on Friday December 3rd at 6.30pm. All are welcome within COVID guidelines, including furry friends! All proceeds from the event will be kindly donated to MADRA by James and Lisagh Carrick.
