Connemara Brewing Company has launched its seasonal beer just in time for Christmas. Gabhar is a limited edition Czech-style dark lager made with a traditional lager hop that is dark in colour but light, sweet, and roasty on the palate. At 6.7 per cent ABV it packs a fair punch with a lovely warmth - perfect for long cold evenings.
The super-cool Gabhar design is consistent with the slick design of the brewery’s other products, and it is little surprise that the company recently won a World Beer Award for design.
Gabhar is available to order now on www.connemarabrewery.com and will be available in select independent retailers in the west of Ireland.
Located in Carraroe, Connemara Brewing Company is fast building a reputation for brewing excellent beers, all of which are made from scratch in the Carraroe brewery, using traditional recipes and as many local ingredients as possible which are sourced directly from carefully selected producers.
Connemara Brewing Company’s commitment to quality is also evident in its sustainability ethos, from brewing to consumption. The brewery prides itself on minimising waste throughout the brewing process, by re-using as many raw materials as possible and by returning all used grain to farming lands in the locality, and using only recycled materials throughout the entire process. The company also uses cans instead of glass to ensure maximum recyclability, lessen its landfill footprint, and ensure it brings a better beer to customers. The brewery is currently planning to move to a new upgraded production which will allow 100 per cent of its energy needs to be met by the renewable energy produced on site, and expects to be carbon negative by the end of 2022.
