Ultan Conlon - new single is a sugar rush of a song

Loughrea singer-songwriter displays another side to his talents with ‘Penny Sweets’

ULTAN CONLON has revealed a whole new side to his songwriting with his new single, ‘Penny Sweets’, a catchy, yet muscular, pop-rocker.

Drawing on eighties rock - right down to the guitar solos - yet also displaying sixties bubblegum influences, this is two minutes and 36 seconds of a sugar rush in the form of a song.

A video of the song being performed live in Quinn’s Confectionary, Tuam, with The Saw Doctors’ Leo Moran on bass, and Padraig Stevens on percussion, has been proving popular on YouTube, while on Facebook it has close to 30,000 views.
