NUIG Maree continue to impress

Charlie Crowley's team defeated UCD Marian

This is turning into a hugely encouraging Super League campaign for NUIG Maree, who defeated UCD Marian 80-64 at the Kingfisher Gym on Saturday evening.

Charlie Crowley's well organised outfit started smartly to control the contest against UCD Marian, who still include some splendid performers.

NUIG Maree, though, were prompted by the excellent Lovre Tvrdic, who contributed 23 points. Others to make a significant scoring impact included Jeryn Lucas and Deondre Jackson.

Diligent defensively too, NUIG Maree led 47-35 at half-time and the home side were sufficiently crafty to close out the deal with the minimum of fuss.

In Division One a young Titans team were beaten 94-66 by Grand Hotel Malahide in the capital.

Missing some key performers Titans still produced a defiant display with Comhghall McCormack mining 20 points for the visitors.

Brendan Hardiman, Joseph Coughlan and Malik Thiam were also impressive for Titans, who started with five teenagers.

NUIG Mystics cruised to a comfortable 82-50 triumph over Phoenix Rockets. Hazel Finn, Sara Messler, and Courtney Cecere were effective throughout.
