Galway WFC’s last game of the WNL season is a demanding away fixture against title chasing Peamount United on Saturday evening (7.30pm ).

The second half of the campaign has featured plenty of encouraging moments for Galway, who were bolstered by the signings of Becky Walsh, Meabh De Burca, Emma Starr, and Julie-Ann Russell.

Considering the emergence of several talented U19 players throughout the year the future appears bright for Galway, who will hope to make progress in 2022.

Tuesday's U19 national league triumph illustrates the potential in the west of Ireland, but delivering on the senior stage will offer a significant test.

That is why the additions of experienced performers aided Galway, who have been defensively solid in recent months.

Republic of Ireland international Savannah McCarthy continues to impress for Galway, who know that Peamount carry a potent attacking threat. In 23 matches Peamount have scored 79 goals so Galway will need to be diligent from the outset.
