The Stunning and David Kitt to headline Ceol an tSamhraidh

Concerts to take place in Ballinasloe and Clifden on October 16 and 22

THE STUNNING and David Kitt will headline Ceol an tSamhraidh, a series of free live music events taking place on Saturday October 16 and Friday 22 in Ballinasloe and Clifden.

The concerts are part of the Government’s Local Live Performance Programming Scheme, and are presented by the Galway County Council’s arts and tourism offices.

On Saturday 16, The Stunning will perform at the Town Hall Theatre, Ballinasloe, and audiences can expect to hear ‘Brewing up a Storm’, ‘Half Past Two’, ‘Romeo’s On Fire’, ‘Heads are Gonna Roll’ and ‘Brighten Up My Life’.

On Friday October 22, singer-songwriter David Kitt will play The Station House in Clifden - his debut show in the capital of Connemara. His latest album, the career spanning retrospective, 20, went Top 10 in Ireland. Kitt, who has strong Galway connections, has worked with David Gray, toured with Tindersticks, and was invited by David Bowie to perform at the Bowie curated Meltdown Festival at the London’s Royal Festival Hall in 2002.

“We are very pleased to be able to bring these incredibly talented artists to audiences this October to extend the tourism season and provide an events based focus in the evening economy in two very different parts of Galway,” said Ruth Mulhern, Galway County tourism officer.

County arts officer, Sharon O’Grady, said “Ceol an tSamhraidh “allows us to support wonderful performing artists and crew, whilst also entertaining audiences across Galway”.

Admission to the concerts is free, but tickets are required and booking is essential. For tickets see Eventbrite.
