Gardaí appeal for witnesses after thefts from cars in city

Incidents took place in the Newcastle, New Street West, and Corrib Park areas

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after thefts from cars in the Newcastle, New Street West, and Corrib Park areas of the city.

Between 7pm on Wednesday September 27 and 7am on Thursday September 28 a black Toyota Auris was broken into at College Gate, Newcastle. A number of items were taken from the car and thrown on the ground outside the car and some personal items and a small amount of cash were taken from the vehicle.

Gardaí are asking anyone who saw this incident taking place or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Newcastle Road area on Wednesday night/Thursday morning to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Broken into

Between 3pm on Tuesday September 28 and 8am on Wednesday September 29 a silver Skoda Superb was broken into while parked on the street at New Street West, off Henry Street. A gent's black leather wallet was taken from the vehicle during the break in. Anyone who may have seen this theft taking place or anyone with any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Between 10pm on Tuesday September 28 and 8am on Wednesday September 29 a black Ford Focus was broken into while parked outside a house at Corrib Park, Newcastle. A black leather wallet was taken from the vehicle during the theft. Gardaí are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious or anyone with any information to contact Galway Garda Station on 091 538000.
