ConTempo - back on the road and ‘countywide’

Acclaimed quartet to perform concerts in Oughterard and Kiltartin this month

THE CONTEMPO Quartet are back on the road and keen as ever to collaborate with local groups, schools and festivals, and this month it seems they are doing just that.

The gradual re-opening of society and the easing of restrictions around indoor live concerts will see ConTempo playing Oughterard Courthouse on Monday October 11 at 1pm and Kiltartan Church, Gort, on Monday October 25 at 12 noon.

The Oughterard concert is a ‘Thank you’ to the community as, during the pandemic, the courthouse became a second home for ConTempo and the Galway Music Residency where rehearsals and recordings could be carried out safely while live events were not possible.

.

For the Kiltartan Church concert, ConTempo is partnering with Coole Music to present a Bank Holiday concert, where the quartet will be joined by two talented young groups from Coole Music - Compass Quartet and Burren Con Brio, a GMR alumni Apprentice Ensemble. The programmes will feature Haydn, Sibelius, and Dvorak. Admission is free, but donations are most welcome.

Registration via www.galwaymusicresidency.ie is required for Oughterard and recommended for Gort.
