Draw at Eamonn Deacy Park

It was a frustrating evening for Galway United

GALWAY UNITED 0 TREATY UNITED 0

A bruising battle culminated with the SSE Airtricity League first division spoils being shared at Eamonn Deacy Park.

Treaty United, who had former maroon and white player Marc Ludden sent off in the 72nd minute, battled admirably to secure a point.

It was tight and tense throughout with Treaty goalkeeper Tadhg Ryan making a string of decent saves to thwart John Caulfield's team.

In the 32nd minute Mikie Rowe rifled a shot from an acute angle, but Ryan denied the home side.

After the interval Treaty, with Sean McSweeney impressing, caused the home side some problems.

Ryan denied Wilson Waweru on 68 as United attempted to land a blow, but Treaty defended in resolute fashion.

Ludden, though, was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 72nd minute following a foul on Gary Boylan.

Late on Treaty had an opportunity, but Anto O'Donnell headed over from substitute Conor Melody's corner.
