It was a bittersweet Friday evening in Stradbrook for Chris Horgan.
A fourth brother to play in the SSE Airtricity League, Horgan moved to Belgium on Monday for a college course.
Being part of a United away win in the capital brought joy, but it also closed a chapter in his life.
"I will really miss the club, I will really miss playing in Terryland, Eamonn Deacy Park, I was quite sad the last day, but I am sure I will be back," Horgan says.
Ultimately it means that for the first time since United reformed in 2014, a Horgan won't be in the squad.
"It will be on odd one, especially for lads like Maurice [Nugent], who would have played with myself, Colm, and Kevin, and Shane [Doherty] who played with myself and Kevin. They have plenty of lads, who can fill our boots, especially in the U19s, they have great players.
"It will be weird for myself not going up on a Monday morning, not having the craic in the dressing room, throwing the boots on and training. You have six or seven games left, I'm sure the lads won't be pondering on it too much, they will want to get the job done for Treaty on Friday."
Horgan has no doubt about the character of the players in John Caulfield's squad.
"There is, it is what you need to be successful," he replies. "You are not going to win anything with individuals. It is a long season, with a lot of games. Lads will pick up injuries, you need everyone to be firing and ready to go.
"It is a bit of a cliche, but it is very truthful that squads do win you the league or do make you successful. I will be sad to be leaving the group, but I will following from Belgium, and I am sure they will do well."
Before departing for Belgium, Chris Horgan was in the Aviva at the weekend to watch his brother Daryl feature for the Republic of Ireland.
"I was at the Irish game on Saturday night, it was great to see Daryl play with the Irish team. It always makes me very proud to be his brother, I thought he was brilliant when he came on."
