AFTER 18 months of no live music, suddenly there are new, in person, outdoor, music festivals for Galway, and Claregalway Castle is the venue.
Meet Me At The Castle, the latest music festival for Claregalway Castle takes place on Saturday September 25 and Sunday 26, with a line-up of singer-songwriters Lisa Hannigan, Tolü Makay, and Wallis Bird, indie-electro producer/composer Daithí, indie-rocker Jape, rapper Nealo, and DJ Sally Cinnamon - with more to be announced - playing both days (but stage times and magical collaborative elements may vary ).
The festival is presented by Hibernacle, the brainchild of Úna Molloy, Pearse Doherty, and Peter Kelly. Úna Molloy is a booking agent, programmer and producer. She runs the music agency Turning Pirate and works with Lisa Hannigan, Ye Vagabonds, Booka Brass, Paul Noonan (Bell X1 ), Luka Bloom, and Wallis Bird.
Pearse Doherty was head of production for Ed Sheeran’s Irish Tour in 2018, site manager for Electric Picnic from 2013 to 2017, tour manager for Tommy Tiernan between 2005 and 2017. He also co-founded the Galway Comedy Festival and played bass with The Saw Doctors from 1998 to 2002.
Peter Kelly is a drummer, producer, DJ, and event promoter from Birr. He also developed Camcor Calling, a response to a lack of music events in the Irish Midlands in 2016.
