Back by popular demand – Don Conroy’s painting workshop at The Lodge at Ashford Castle

Learn or improve your artistic skills. Back by popular demand, guests at The Lodge at Ashford Castle can join painting legend Don Conroy for a painting masterclass and workshop this October. A sell-out in 2020, the full day workshop offers guests the opportunity to learn how to paint or improve upon existing skills in a beautiful setting overlooking Lough Corrib in Mayo.

Taking place from October 11-13 prices start from €400pn based on two people sharing and includes dinner on both evenings, breakfast each morning and of course, the chance to paint with the master himself.

Don Conroy, who was a regular guest on RTE’s The Den for more than 20 years, delighted the nation once again during lockdown with the timely launch of his Draw with Don YouTube channel. A working artist, writer, television presenter, naturalist and environmentalist, he will bring a rich tapestry of creativity, skill and fun to guests attending this special break.

Guests attending the full day workshop will be inspired by the stunning views across Lough Corrib that can be enjoyed from the hotel, together with the expansive estate woodlands and gardens and changing colours of the season. All guests will be provided with the requisite materials for creating their masterpieces, which will be a lasting memory of their break away this year.

For guests who wish to build on their getaway, there is a myriad of activities to enjoy on the estate including horse-riding, fishing, zip-lining, cycling and Ireland’s first school of falconry.

Extensive arrangements have been made by both properties to allow for social distancing in all workshop, dining and public areas. Set in a spectacular 350-acre estate in Cong, Mayo, The Lodge at Ashford Castle is part of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection.
