Repair works to the road surface at the bus stop on Clarke Avenue in Mervue have been completed, following a long campaign to have the work carried out.
The works, which followed an allocation of €5,000 from the Local Improvement Scheme, have been welcomed by Independent Galway City East councillor, Terry O’Flaherty.
“Temporary works carried out before were of very poor quality,” she said. “The repairs would only last about three months, and when it rained the potholes and the cracks would start to appear again. Finally a proper job has been carried out and the residents in Clarke Avenue are delighted with the improvements.”
