The Connacht Hospitality Group wasthis week delighted to host Hollywood star Bill Murray and welcome him to Galway Bay Golf Resort. Mr Murray is in Ireland with his family and New York Times best-selling author Tom Coyne to film a new golf series, The Links Life.
The legendary actor – famous for his roles in Ghostbusters, Lost in Translation, and Groundhog Day – enjoyed the views and even took a little catnap before enjoying a leisurely lunch and hitting the immaculate course at Galway Bay.
The Connacht Hospitality Group, one of the leading hospitality groups in the city is scheduled to begin works on a four-star luxury hotel and spa resort at Galway Bay later this year and took the opportunity to bestow the honour of naming a suite “The Murray Suite” after Bill and his family.
“We were so thrilled to welcome Bill, his family and Tom Coyne to Galway Bay and we look forward to welcoming them back many more times in the future” says group sales and marketing manager Eveanna Ryan.
The Group which operates some of the best loved bars and hotels in the city were perfectly positioned to host the group and showcase the best of Galway. The course at Galway Bay in Renville, Oranmore, is becoming one of Ireland’s top Golf Courses. Already officially rated as the best parkland in Connacht, the ocean-hugging course is climbing in every one of Ireland’s Top 100 Courses rankings.
