STRANGE LANDS, an exhibition of photographs by the Swedish artist Ingela Stenberg, is currently running at the Renzo Café, Eyre Street.
Strange Lands is an exploration into national and cultural identity; how it is to live between two countries - the country of birth, and country of choice. It investigates the longing and the guilt; the wish to reconnect spiritually and physically. The artist is using her body as a way to investigate the relationship between the human figure and the Irish land; she is a part of the land, and yet a part of her will always be gazing away, to the home and family she left behind.

Stenberg completed a BA (Hon ) degree in Fine Art; Photography, Video & Film at LSAD in Limerick 2018. Since then, she has worked on various projects and has exhibited her work in several locations throughout Ireland.
Her practice focuses primarily on the subject of nature, in combination with identity, mental health and the connection between the landscape and the human figure.
