Construction work on an extension of Craughwell National School will begin on September 6, and should be completed by May 2022.
The school is to get a two-story extension of 1,628 Square metres to replace the prefab classrooms. It will create eight new classrooms, a general-purpose sports hall, a multipurpose room, administration offices, principal’s office, access lift, toilets, carpark, and a drop off and pick up area.
The start date for the works has been welcomed by Independent Galway East TD, Sean Canney, who said the project “has been on the agenda for too many years”. He said it was “great news” for the staff, pupils, and parents.
