Wild Child celebration at Thoor Ballylee next week

This year Thoor Ballylee, the Galway home of poet laureate WB Yeats, will come alive for a ‘Wild Child’ celebration on August 18 for National Heritage Week.

Families are invited to be inspired by the words of Yeats: “Come away O human child to the waters and the wild, with a faery hand in hand”.

There will be workshops for making fairy doors and magic wands, as well as readings from stories and poetry from his writing. A woodland walk connecting the beauty of Thoor Ballylee and its environs to the fairy folk will be accompanied with music and legends. The event is designed to connect children to the wild wonder of the place that Yeats so loved. For further details see ‘“Wild Child” at Thoor Ballylee’ on Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/wild-child-at-thoor-ballylee-tickets-165904547969

This is a free event, but due to Covid 19 restrictions registration for workshops is necessary.
