“I'M UP and about and living again without realising that that’s what I’m doing.” So says a woman Galway will meet during the 2021 Galway International Arts Festival.
This woman lives her day as she lives most days. Nothing of great significance happens to her – but she will be living. It is her story we will hear when in Bedsit, the latest Room series of shows, written and directed by Enda Walsh [pictured below], and designed by Paul Fahy.

Bedsit runs at the GIAF in the Columban Hall, Sea Road, from September 6 to 18 at 12 noon, every 30 minutes to 6pm, with later evening shows to 8pm on Fridays.
Each Room is presented as 15-minute immersive theatre installation with an audience of one person/or a small group family booking, stepping inside to explore an intimate space before an audio recording begins and the story is told.
Bedsit is the eighth in this series of unique theatre installations from the internationally celebrated playwright, Enda Walsh (The Walworth Farce, Misterman, Ballyturk, The Second Violinist ), and Galway International Arts Festival artistic director, Paul Fahy [pictured below].

The Financial Times has called the series, “a haunting immersive experience”, while The New Yorker declared they were, “Walsh at his most Joycean”. The Times said Fahy’s design was “never less than a triumph”.
Tickets are €10 (single ), €16 (two people ), €21 (three people ), €25 (four people ) and available from www.giaf.ie There is limited capacity. Only one single or group booking available per showing to avoid sharing with unconnected persons.
