‘Happy Again’ marks the first new music from Niamh since her magnificent debut album, Hemet (and its singles ) was released on Black Gate Records in September 2020. The album was called “one of the finer albums released in Ireland this year,” by Nialler9; and “a memorable debut” by Tony Clayton Lea in The Irish Times. It was also nominated for Album of The Year at the RTÉ Choice Awards and RTÉ Folk Awards.
“This was the first song I wrote after releasing Hemet, and it was in the middle of lockdown,” says Niamh. “It’s roughly about the work you do to turn things around or feel better again.

“This kind of work can go unrecognized and feel quite isolating. So, this song was an opportunity for me to acknowledge this process in all its glory. It’s a simple song but I’m really proud of it and feel very happy to have the chance to share it with you now.”
‘Happy Again’ is taken from Niamh’s forthcoming EP, In The Meantime, which will be released in October. This release was made possible due to the support from the Galway International Arts Festival’s Elevate Bursary.
Niamh will also play the Róisín Dubh on Saturday November 13. For tickets see www.roisindubh.net Pre-save ‘Happy Again’ n Spotify: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/niamhregan/happy-again.
