A POP-up gig amid the wild splendour of Inishbofin awaits music fans when the ‘We Used To Play Here’ tour comes to the Connemara island next week.
‘We Used To Play Here’ will see double bassist Caimin Gilmore and cellist Kate Ellis - two of Ireland’s leading improvisationalists and new music performers - play in a specially designed tent to deliver a socially distant, live, in person, concert.
The duo are touring Ireland and as part of that play Inishbofin on Monday June 28. Gilmore and Ellis will perform music by composers Neil O’Connor, Amanda Feery, and Sam Perkin. The show will take place in a specially-commissioned, architecturally designed, pop-up venue.
The pop-up venue was created and designed by Shane Sugrue of Unqualified Design, and is specially built for safe and socially distanced concerts, for audiences of up to six people. The artwork wrapping the venue was designed and painted by Cork artist Shane O’Driscoll.
Tickets are available from the Black Gate Cultural Centre and www.tickettailor.com.
