Galway Clinic named in Ireland’s Best Employers list

Galway Clinic has been named among ‘Ireland’s Best Employers’ following a major nationwide survey involving the international market research firm, Statista.

The Clinic, which is part of the Blackrock Healthcare Group, was included in the list of top employers published in The Sunday Independent.

Geoff Moylan, Galway Clinic’s Chief Executive Officer, has welcomed the news, saying that the accolade demonstrates how the hospital’s approach to healthcare benefits not just patients, but staff as well.

“We were delighted to be included in the list of ‘Ireland’s Best Employers’ for 2021. It is a recognition of the professionalism and teamwork of all our employees, and the type of supportive workplace which we have worked to create.

“Here in Galway Clinic, we strive to provide our patients with world-class healthcare, while also working to ensure that our staff have the opportunity to excel and grow. Our state-of-the-art facilities provide the best possible environment for our staff to develop their skills in providing care, and we place a strong emphasis on supporting staff through further education and training,” Mr Moylan said.

Since it was opened in 2004, Galway Clinic has achieved widespread recognition as a leading acute hospital.

The hospital has been accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI ) since 2007, an accolade which is considered the gold standard in global healthcare. In 2019, the hospital received the Kate Granger Award for their person-centred care.

In addition to building strong links with leading academic institutions such as the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI ), National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG ) and Galway Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT ), Galway Clinic has also forged relationships with public hospitals in the region - the benefits of which have been repeatedly demonstrated during the Covid crisis, when Galway Clinic played a key role in alleviating pressure on public hospitals within the Saolta University Health Care Group.

One area where the Clinic has achieved particular recognition is in the use of cutting-edge technologies across a range of specialities.

Mr Moylan also pointed to the career opportunities which exist for those seeking to work in Galway Clinic.

“We are very proud to have received this recognition, and we look forward to continuing to evolve as a leading provider of world-class healthcare in the West of Ireland. If doctors, nurses and other dedicated medical professionals are looking to find a hospital which combines the very best in patient care with the very best in staff development, I would strongly encourage them to check out our website for current vacancies,” Mr Moylan concluded.
