Galway singer-songwriter to play as part of Cork’s Quiet Lights festival

MAIJA SOFIA, the Galway singer-songwriter, along with Tipperary musician Elaine Howley, will play a concert which will be streamed live from Cork this week.

Maija Sofia and Elaine Howley will play live at Levis’ Corner House, Ballydehob, County Cork. A 40-minute set of music from both women will stream live from Levis’ Youtube Channel from Thursday May 27, for two weeks. The show is part of a reimagined Quiet Lights festival.

Maija Sofia’s 2019 debut album, Bath Time, a collection of songs exploring female experiences and shadow histories throughout art, history, and folklore, received unanimous praise in both Ireland and Britain, and was nominated for the RTÉ Choice Award Irish Album of the Year. She is currently working on her next album.

Elaine Howley is an experimental musician and singer, who blends analog beats, digital recordings with cassette loops, and analogue synthesisers. She is currently working towards her first full length solo release.
