Town Hall Theatre seeks applications for 2021 Patron Donation Awards

Leading Galway venue looks to support ‘original and ambitious’ works which can be a solo project, a partnership, or a collaboration

The Town Hall Theatre is inviting applications for its 2021 Patron Donation Awards from artists, companies, or producers based in Galway city or county.

The Town Hall is calling on creatives for proposals from across disciplines, that will result in new projects that will be “original and ambitious” and which may forge new partnerships and collaborations.

Proposals may be for a solo project, a partnership, or a collaboration, and can be as Gaeilge or in English. The Town Hall will offer a minimum of one award of up to €10,000 and four awards of up to €5,000 each. The award will include rehearsal/development space in the Town Hall and mentoring, as required and where possible.

The award is part of a number of initiatives from the Town Hall has announced to encourage and support creative development for Galway artists, companies, and producers,” said the venue’s managing director, Fergal McGrath. “Our doors may be closed to audiences for now, but the Town Hall will continue to support artists during this crisis, through a range of measures made possible by the generosity of our patrons, the Arts Council, and the venue’s valued audience.”

The public can contribute to the awards via the Town Hall’s online booking system which features a Patron Donation option: tht.ie/patron-donation-awards All income from donations received will be invested in the awards.

Applications may be made via www.tht.ie The closing date is May 15 and formal offers will be made early June.
