Residential development opportunity in Doughiska among Galway properties to be offered via online auction

A residential development opportunity in Doughiska – comprising three incomplete apartments and a half-acre site with two incomplete semidetached houses – will be offered at an online auction early next month, with a guide price of €900,000.

BidX1 and joint agent DNG Maxwell Heaslip & Leonard have been appointed to sell the site and the apartments, which form part of a well-established residential development, at an auction scheduled for May 7.

The apartments are situated within a larger residential block of 10 similar units and are ready for first fixing with all services available, along with parking to the rear of the block.

The site comprises two semidetached houses, also ready for first fixing. Potential purchasers will likely be attracted by the opportunity for further development on the site, which previously had planning permission for the construction of 10 residential units.

A week later, on May 14, BidX1 will auction more than 160 properties across Ireland, including another residential development site in Galway, this time at Boleybeg on the Cappagh Road in Barna. With expired planning permission for a substantial home, the site extends to almost six and a half acres, and BidX1 is guiding €100,000. A detached four bedroom house in Oughterard on 0.66 acre with a guide price of €310,000 is also being offered, along with a four bedroom dormer bungalow in Caherlistrane which is guiding €180,000, and a two bedroom home in Tuam that requires modernisation and has a guide price of €60,000.

Those seeking a substantial renovation project may be interested in Caher House, a derelict property in Recess. The extensive remedial works which are required are reflected in the guide price; BidX1 has listed the property at €40,000.

Anyone wishing to bid on a property will need to register on the BidX1 platform before the auction, providing proof of identity and proof of address, as well as a deposit – the amount of which is based on the guide price.

Registered parties can place bids of €1,000 or higher, either manually or by setting a maximum bid. The latter option allows the system to bid on their behalf, up to the amount they have specified.
