Appeal for witnesses to assaults

Gardaí in Galway are appealing for witnesses to an assault that took place at John Coogan Park, Newcastle, Galway at around 7.15 am on Sunday morning, April 4.

A male was outside the front of his home when another man arrived in a maroon coloured Toyota Avensis car and proceeded to assault him. This man is described as being in his twenties, having a strong build and at the time of the alleged assault was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and a black face mask.

After the altercation this male left the scene in the Toyota Avensis. Gardaí are asking anyone who may have witnessed this assault or anyone who may have any information to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Gardaí in Galway are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a member of An Garda Síochána that took place on Williamsgate Street, Galway on Sunday April 4.

Gardaí are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone that may have recorded footage of the incident to Garda Station on 091-538000 or on the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

Thieves make away with rock breaker and digger bucket

Sometime between 6pm on Thursday April 1 and 10.30am on Friday April 2 a mini rock breaker and a mini digger bucket were stolen from the car park outside the national school in Leitir Móir, Contae Na Gaillimhe.

Gardaí in Leitir Móir are asking anyone who may have seen any person acting suspiciously in or around Leitir Móir National School on Thursday night/Friday morning or anyone with any information to contact them on 091 551122.

Separarely, between 5pm on Monday March 29 and 11.30am on Tuesday March 30 a wing mirror was stolen from a White Opel Movano van parked on the Headford Road, Galway. Anyone who may have noticed anything unusual in the area between those times or who may have any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Hubcaps stolen

At around 2pm on Thursday April 1 four hubcaps were stolen from a grey Ford Transit van parked at An Turnóg, Headford Road, Galway.

Gardaí are asking anyone who may have seen anything or anyone who may have any information that could aid the investigation to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Criminal damage caused to vehicles

Gardai are investigating a series of separate incidents in nwhicn criminal damage was caused to vehicles in the city and county.

At around 9.30 pm on Monday March 29 at Bluebell Woods, Oranmore, Co Galway damage was caused to the rear of a White BMW 218. Gardaí in Oranmore are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time and who may have witnessed the damage being caused or anyone with any information to contact them on 091-388030.

At around 1am on Friday morning April 2 damage was caused to the passenger side window and the rear window of a black Volvo C30 parked at Walter Macken Place, Mervue, Galway. Gardaí are asking anyone who may have witnessed the damage being caused or anyone with any information in relation to this incident to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.
