The start of the SSE Airtricity League of Ireland season is edging closer with young Galway United and Galway WFC supporters invited to a Kahoot! Quiz next Thursday evening.
Two primary school teachers with a keen interest in the domestic game, Tom O'Connor and Conan Byrne, are spearheading the venture.
Byrne, who currently players for Glenavon, previously featured for UCD, Sporting Fingal, Shelbourne, and St Patrick's Athletic during a distinguished career.
O'Connor, principal of Scoil Phadraig Naofa just outside Dundalk, has assisted many in recent months with innovative lesson plans based on League of Ireland affairs.
Three winners in the competition will receive a League of Ireland jersey of their choice and the aim of the quiz is to help launch the 2021 campaign.
National and international football stars will join the quiz answering questions, while also discussing their careers.
John Caulfield's Galway United face Shelbourne in the SSE Airticity League of Ireland First Division on March 26 at Eamonn Deacy Park. The following day Galway WFC, managed by Billy Clery, host Cork City at the same venue.
