Gardai probe spate of county burglaries

On Friday March 5 between 7.30am and 5.30pm a house at Cloonasee, Kinvara, Co Galway was broken into. During the course of the burglary a number of items were taken from the property. Anyone who saw anything unusual in the Cloonasee area on Friday or anyone with any information in relation to this burglary is asked to contact Gort Garda Station on 091 636400.

Also on Friday March 5 between 4.30 pm and 8.30 pm a house at the Lavally, Gort, was broken into and damaged caused to the property. Gardaí in Gort are asking anyone who may have any information in relation to this burglary or may have seen anything unusual in the Lavally area between 4.30pm and 8.30 pm Friday evening to contact them on 091-636400.

Again on Friday March 5 between 4.45pm and 6.15pm a house was broken into and damage caused to the property at Mount Carmel Crescent, Loughrea, Co Galway. Gardaí in Loughrea are asking anyone who may have been in the Mount Carmel area between 4.45pm and 6.15pm on Friday evening and may have noticed anything to contact Loughrea Garda Station on 091-842870.

On Saturday March 6 just before 8pm a burglary occurred at a house at Caheroyen, Athenry. A male was disturbed in the course of the burglary and fled the scene in a dark coloured SUV. This male is described a tall, of slim build and was dressed all in black. Gardaí in Athenry are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Caheroyen area just before 8pm on Saturday evening or anyone who may have seen the male or the vehicle described to contact them at Athenry Garda Station on 091 844016.

Outboard engine stolen from boat

Sometime between 3.30pm on Tuesday March 2 and 8.30am on Wednesday March 3 the locks were cut and a Yamaha engine stolen from a boat tied at Curraghmore, Headford, Co Galway.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any persons acting suspiciously in the Curraghmore area between 3.30pm on Tuesday and 8.30am on Wednesday to contact Headford Garda Station on 093-35412.

Between 9pm on Friday March 5 and 1am on Saturday March 6 a grey Yamaha 6 outboard engine was stolen from a boat tied at Ballinacourty Pier, Oranmore, Co Galway. Anyone who may have any information in relation to this theft or anyone who may have been offered this engine for sale is asked to contact Oranmore Garda Station on 091-388030.

Cafe window smashed

Between 4.30pm on Saturday March 6 and 8.30am on Sunday March 7 the front window of a café on Mainguard Street, Galway was broken.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this damage being caused or anyone with any information that could help with this investigation to contact Galway Garda Station on 091-538000.

Garda appeal for witnesses to Lidl carpark hit and run

Gardaí in Galway are appealing for witnesses in relation to a hit-and-run collision when a male received serious injuries when struck by a car in the Lidl car park, Headford Road, Galway at approximately 5pm on Thursday evening October 1, 2020.

The car involved failed to remain at the scene. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to this incident to come forward. Gardaí are particularly appealing to anyone who may have been in the Lidl car park, Headford Road, Galway around 5pm on Thursday October 1, 2020 or road users in the area at the time that may have dash-cam footage.
