The new primary care centre for Moycullen is due to become operational this summer. It will include two GP practices as well as other HSE services.
The centre will be located on the N59 on the approach to Moycullen. It will provide public health nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, psychology, as well as community-based mental health services and supports.
The news has been welcomed by Fine Gael Galway senator Seán Kyne who said it was, "great news" for the community, which will "ensure that a wide variety of health services are available locally".
“It will be a one-stop-shop for the community when it comes to healthcare," he said. "It is very encouraging that, despite Covid-19 restrictions, progress on the construction continues. The centre represents a significant investment in health services locally and will benefit the community, not only in Moycullen, but further afield."
