LEGACY, THE new film by French photographer and film-maker, Yann Arthus Bertrand, about the crisis facing humanity from climate change, will receive its Irish premiere in Galway.
The film will be screened online from today until February 28, as part of the Night of Ideas from the Cultural Services of the French Embassy and the Institut Français.
The screening is presented in association with Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture, the Pálás Cinema, and the consular agencies of France in Galway. Galway schools, colleges, and teachers have been invited to participate in this event and are encouraged to organise discussions, debates and, initiatives around the theme of climate change and climate action.
Legacy vividly portrays the urgency of the climate situation, the pressing need to act in support of sustainable development and the preservation of biodiversity. "I made a very personal film which was probably one of the most difficult I had to make," said Bertrand. "It is also a call for collective responsibility and I hope it will be heard by everyone.”
