SEVEN ARTISTS, from three different parts of Galway, are currently exhibiting paintings, prints, and drawings in oil, acrylic, gouache, ink, and charcoal, in Anton’s Café, Fr Griffin Road.
Entitled Staying Local, it features seven city and county artists (from An Spidéal, Kinvara, Tuam, and Galway city ), whose works includes landscapes, bird-life, local architecture, and the fantastical.

Artists Fiona Cawley and Rachel Varden’s paintings feature mystical landscapes and kaleidescope imagery; Bernard Dooley and Stephanie McLauglin illustrate local people and familiar landmarks in acrylic and oil; Sacha Hutchinson presents studies of wild birds and murmurations; Hilary Morley presents stark drawings in charcoal to highlight the disappearing countryside of Knocknacarra; while Geraldine O’Rourke is displaying framed prints of seascapes.
The exhibition is open weekdays from 9am to 3pm. All works are for sale. Also for sale are a number of art postcards, food gifts, locally made crafts, and Bothar na Trá, a new publication by Engage Art Studios, Salthill. For more information email [email protected].
