A total of €22,000 has been allocated by the Galway City Council to 11 groups and clubs in the city under the Minority Sport and Activity Fund.
Successful programmes range from tennis to athletics, scouting to rowing. Clubs and organisations receiving grants are Row To Recovery (€2,900 ); Galway Rowing Club (€2,500 ); Castlegar Athletics Club (€2,500 ); Galway City Sailing Club (€2,500 ); Galway Kayak Club (€2,500 ); Community Sports Hub (€2,300 ); Menlo Scouts (€2,000 ); Foroige Ballybane (€1,600 ); Ballinfoyle Community Centre (€1,200 ); Merlin Woods Tennis Club (€1,000 ); Renmore Hockey Club (€1,000 )
