Salthill getting ready for a welcome Christmas

Salthill is gearing up for a very special Christmas like never before, pulling out all the stops to make it a season to remember — for all the right reasons.

Already the arrival of the festive lights has brightened the mood ahead of the expected easing of restrictions that will hopefully see friends and families able to meet, safely soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy outdoor dining again.

Watch out for a very special new installation this year that is sure to turn heads when it’s unveiled near Palmer’s Rock — hint: think of Rudolph and his friends!

Along with that, the people behind The Village Salthill will be doing everything they can to make it a pleasure for people to spend in Salthill this Christmas.

They are working on lots of new promotions and giveaways — both online and offline — to help everyone get into the festive mood over the next few weeks in the countdown to the Big Day.

The Prom, which even now sees thousands of people out strolling most days, will become even more welcoming as Salthill exudes a seasonal air.

And there’s a special Christmas surprise in store for the hundreds of regular sea swimmers whose numbers taking a dip in the waters off Salthill have grown rapidly this winter, many of them taking the plunge in support of charities.

The Village Salthill plans to reward their efforts (and bravery! ) by presenting them with vouchers for a free hot drink in one of Salthill’s many outlets such as Coco Café, The Creamery, Centra, Mocha Beans, The Gourmet Tart Company, The Gourmet Food Parlour, Ground & Co and Kelleher’s garage.

Of course a warm welcome awaits everyone, not just the swimmers, in Salthill this Christmas season from the 60-plus businesses in the resort.
