Council's recycling centre re-opens

Cllr Terry O'Flaherty is urging the public to make use of the facility

The Galway City Council Recycling Civic Amenity centre in the Liosban Industrial estate re-opened this week, and social distancing measures have been put in place to meet COVID 19 regulations.

The initial opening hours of the facility are from 10am to 3.30pm, Mondays to Thursdays; from 10am to 3pm on Friday; and 8.15am to 12.30pm on Saturday.

Additional signage has been installed to emphasise the one way system. Customers are advised that this is a self service facility open to residents of Galway city, and no commercial use is permitted.

Independent Galway City East councillor Terry O'Flaherty is encouraging people to make use of the facility. However, she is urging the public to pre-sort all items to reduce time spent at the recycling centre, and to refer to Galway City Council website for a list of items that are accepted for recycling.
