LED lighting for Doughiska Park

Installation of lighting, to start next week, will 'offer more security'

Work will start next week on installing new LED lighting for Doughiska Park, a move one councillor said will "offer more security" for local people using the park during the winter.

Fianna Fáil Galway City East councillor, Alan Cheevers, said the installation of the lighting was something residents had been seeking for a long time.

"Certain areas of the park were quite dark during the winter hours," he said. "This will offer more security for pedestrians and will be welcomed by the adjoining Merlin Primary and Merlin College schools, and by sports clubs and residents in area."
