Fregoli Theatre Company announces a new work-in-progress edition of its latest work Cross Street. A virtual reading of its new comedy play, offers hints of horror while exploring mental health issues and can be seen for one night only on Saturday November 28 from 7pm.
The story sees Enid who is searching for a new home. She finds a place on Cross Street. A place of routine. A place populated by some pretty serious creatures of habit. Enid’s arrival threatens to disrupt well-worn grooves. A house meeting is called. To re-establish order. But this stormy night has other things planned.
Cross Street looks at how mental issues can grow and manifest when left to fester. Each housemate struggles with his/her own ghosts purposefully isolating himself/herself from anyone who may interfere or help. The housemates struggle with grief, guilt, alcoholism, eating disorders, neglect, self-harm, and self-doubt.
Written by Jarlath Tivnan (Pleasure Ground / You Could Be Us ) and in development by Fregoli Theatre Company as part of its residency at The Roscommon Arts Centre. Directed by Eimear Finan and re-uniting the cast of Fregoli’s hit shows Pleasure Ground and You Could Be Us - Cross Street will be performed by Jarlath Tivnan, Kate Murray, Eilish McCarthy, and Peter Shine.
