Galway ballerina seeks sponsorship

Emer Lenihan to audition for St Petersburg Ballet and Boris Eifman Ballet in Russia in January

GALWAY BALLERINA Emer Lenihan is a dancer making waves in the ballet world at the moment, having been offered auditions in January with the St Petersburg Ballet and Boris Eifman Ballet companies in Russia.

She has just been offered a Bursary with Ballet Ireland, which she has accepted, and was offered an apprenticeship with American Ballet Theatre, one of the most prestigious ballet companies in the world.

Emer is a former pupil of the Regina Rogers School of Ballet in Galway. Regina is appealing for sponsorship for Emer to allow this talented dancer to further her career to the fullest extent.

"This girl needs sponsorship," Regina says. "She has never received anything and we have tried everywhere. Emer is in Milan at present and has several auditions coming up, the St Petersburg and Boris Eifman companies to mention the more prestigious. It is so frustrating that this amazing talent isn’t being fostered and recognised."

For more information on how to sponsor Emer, email Regina Rogers at [email protected].
