JOE GEOGHAN, one of Galway's most respected photographers, will be marking a career spanning five decades, when a retrospective on his work goes on display in Art In Mind.
The exhibition, which launches this evening [Thursday October 1] at 6pm, will feature landscape, portraiture, and more explorative forms by Geoghan.
The exhibition also includes a piece titled 'Eyes Of The Beholder' which was previously on display at the 23rd Cúirt International Festival of Literature. The exhibition involves 23 photographs of 23 poet's eyes all underscored with a poem by the poet. The poets include Uachtarán na hÉireann Michael D Higgins, Gerry Hanberry, Kevin Higgins, and others.
There will also be images from Geoghan's photography books, with proceeds being donated to the Galway Rape Crisis Centre. The exhibition runs until October 30. The gallery is located in the Liosban Industrial Estate. See www.artinmind.ie
