Development of the old Grove site in Tuam is to proceed

The development of the Mental Health Day Hospital site in Tuam will go to tender in October and the HSE intend to appoint the contractor in January 2021, it has been revealed by Deputy Sean Canney.

He said; “In a Parliamentary Question to the Minister for Health, [Stephen Donnelly], I received a reply from the HSE national director estates.

“This project has been in the plans for a number of years. I am confident that it is in the final stage and will be constructed in 2021.

“The Grove site is closed for 20 years and finally, we will see this iconic building back in use as a health facility for Tuam and North Galway.”
